Peter Stewart


Owner, General Contractor

Peter is a highly skilled general contractor with over 26 years of experience in the trades. Born and educated in England, Peter spent the first 10 years of his career in the high-pressure, big-finance world of luxury yacht-building, leading to the ownership of a successful yacht finishing company based in Italy. After a move to Canada and a transition into high-end finishing carpentry, cabinetmaking, and house construction, Peter naturally evolved his business into a general contracting firm, forming PWS Contracting in 2013.

 

Alissa Stewart


Owner, Manager

Alissa has extensive experience in the general management and administration of small businesses. She draws on a multi-faceted background that includes hospitality, event planning and wellness management in England, the United States and Canada. Her talent for financial organization and communication is an essential part of PWS’s foundation.

  • Miguel Fernandez

    Financial Controller
    A second-generation numbers guy, Miguel has worked in construction accounting and administration since 2014, and with PWS since 2017. He brings a wealth of knowledge from previous accounting/administrative experience in public practice accounting for small business, music and film management. Miguel’s calm approach to the complex world of financial organization is the cornerstone of PWS’s solid financial foundation. Miguel was born in Peru and speaks English and Spanish. His passion for travel has taken him to countries all over the world. He loves cycling, snowboarding and minimalism.

  • Christina Horton

    Office Manager
    Christina has a well-rounded background in accounting and administration for corporate and small business through a variety of industries. From a young age she’s had a knack for numbers, and enjoys the organization and problem solving this career brings. She has a diploma in accounting from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and is currently working towards obtaining certification as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner through the National Payroll Institute of Canada. In her spare time, Christina enjoys being outdoors, walking and camping with her family.

  • Carson Baird

    Lead Builder, Founding Member
    Carson is PWS Contracting’s lead builder. He has over 20 years of experience in building, carpentry and project management and uses this expertise to oversee every one of PWS’s projects. Previously, Carson ran a renovation company that specialized in eco-building and the use of reclaimed lumber.

  • Gavin Haukeness

    Project Manager, Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter
    Gavin has been working in construction since 2006 and has logged over 10,000 hours of carpentry experience. He received his Red Seal Carpentry certification in 2016. Growing up on a farm he has a lifetime of hands-on experience. Gavin’s unshakeable good nature and eye for quality are respected aspects of the PWS philosophy. He has worked with PWS since 2016.

  • Gawain Carey

    Project Manager
    Gawain began his career in the European super yacht industry as a yacht finisher, before completing a degree in Digital Music and Sound Arts. He later launched his own low voltage electrical company, specializing in high-end sound and media installations. Gawain joined PWS in 2021 as a seasoned project manager with experience managing complex building and installation projects and a passion for building excellence.
